Now playing: Rufus Wainwright - A Foggy Day
via FoxyTunes

like the title? yeah neither do i. It was either that or quantum of solace said with a japanese accent/slang. You know when the average jap speaks english?. Like any english word which hasn't been translated into japanese for official use or the ones where they say it in english but it still sounds japanese. Its like an extra OO or UU sound at the end of it. So it would be Quantum ofuu solace-suu kakaka funny? not? laugh damnit laugh!

Going on. I would like to give a warm and brotherly welcome to the newest member of the pad. Snot nosed, fresh face, bright eyed and pink fleshed little prick ptr.y . Don't let the ah beng fied persona fool you, he has some potential (being modest here) scroll down for his post. Since james is off being a working class hero of our beloved society, he won't be back for another 10-20 years, so look out for him beggining 2018.

*Hurrmmh recipe for disaster*-one female mongolian, one c4 explosive, and a bunch of goats to be scaped

I shall then begin my run on the latest movies and music, the only thing worth talking about these days. Besides the fox. How about politics? You may ask.. But with the advent of the mighty internet everybody has developed an interest, and/or an opinion about najib and the mongolian bombings or even human rights. There are people who make a living out of it and i think its best to leave it to the pros. Plus it gets pretty tiring after a while, and certainly gets you worked up.

Same old same old. How we hope to see change bla bla bla bark bark bark bark woof woof woof. Its what i like to call SOS- same old sh-.... Deep down we wise malaysians (or the unwise) know that if ever. Big mighty IF pakatan rakyat takes over, it would still be the same old sh- Its a bad combination, narrow minded left wing (or right) conservatives, modern umno thugs, and noisy rocket boys. Recipe for disaster. Although i would think that maharaja petra would make a fantastic PM, indeed then malaysia surely boleh. Till then please continue reading...

Day dreams aside. I recently watched Quantum ofuu solaceuu. I remember watching casino royale 2 years back when it first came out. Fresh out of exams that time, it was like no other bond film (bear in mind back then bond was synonymous with pierce brosnan and my it was baaaaaad. He was old, fat and pretty. It wasn't funny, it was more like joke. )

The casting of daniel craig was largely criticized, for him being a blonde and not pretty enough. Even i had my doubts. All was gone when i came out from those swinging doors of the cinema. The song, the girl, the action, the suave, dark, rugged blonde blew me away. Then occasionally you would see it playing on a 60 inch sony lcd tv with the words 'blu-ray' shinning brightly below.

Although by the time i had seen the movie i had already read some reviews, mixed mostly. Some saying it was bad, lacking humour, to much action. Whiny little ****s. I thought it was good. I mean compared to the casino royale you would expect something more (naturally). But i thought it was good, as it continued with the story line of bond taking revenge, consumed and blinded with anger.

*sigh*

Also a bit more dialogue, which is a no no here in malaysia. People already squirming in their seats wondering why are they talking? fight already!. Did i mentioned i saw it in ipoh? Which was a complete ****up. The ac wasn't working, the seat was awkwardly positioned. The guy next to me was either a hobo or a retard. Maybe both. The smell, the smell. Even the cinema was tucked inside the food court. Hooray. Further down the row sat a crazy man shouting to himself. Each time i thought he would finally stop, hoboretard would wriggle in his seat beside me. Why Why why do i constantly find myself in such situations in the cinema?.

Do watch the movie if you haven't. The first action sequence is worth 10 bucks already.

Rufus wainwright. My favourite. Critically acclaimed, but hardly mainstream. Actually he has appeared on a lot of OSTs.

A little background on Rufus wainwright first. He is a singer/songwriter. Has about 4-5 albums to his name, and countless tracks on other movie soundtracks. Has a sort of nasally, lazy voice. Think jay chou but the real deal. Why am i even comparing him to the inferior jay chou? Also he comes from a family of performers. Father was some famed (still is) folk singer. Mother performed a lot also, and so does the sister. So naturally he followed. He started performing at a young age together with his mother and sister, like a troupe. But for the past decade has made a name for himself. I have always thought that some of his songs would make great christian hymns/songs (albeit rather inappropriate, the title 'gay messiah' would start a riot) Forget hill songs, Rufus wainwright would be driving a steam roller over the shouts and screams of Darlene Zschech . But then again music isn't about who is better, more towards personal taste. So i shan't say more.

Forgive my vague and incoherent description of him. Click here for a some what detailed picture. The picture you see above is the poster for the concert. A remake of judy garlands famed night in the Carnegie hall. So he sings while being backed by a 40-piece orchestra. Its the songs of the 50-60s with the big band/jazzy feel. It has been called "the greatest night in show business history" and i can think of no one else could do a remake as well. His voice is versatile, with a good range an control, i would like to think angelic or what would be from a gay angel. From opera to slow love songs, even the occasional fast number (wtf sounds so 5os) He does it so effortlessly. I just adore anything he does, even if its gay opera porn for that matter.

anyways, the sky is getting dark.

i shall bid farewell then.

later.
